THE PROJECT

The School Starters’ Hub Project is addressing Secondary Schools and its main Goal is to transform them into Innovation & Creativity Hubs; In this way, they will be interconnected with Research/ Science and Enterprises (Local and European) through the participatory approach of a European Platform.

School Starters’ Hub Project wishes to face the European Challenges by adopting activities that will:

  1. strengthen schools by supporting their interdisciplinary perspective, their openness and engage students in activities that enhance innovation, creativity, entrepreneurial skills and create a linkage with the corporate world and wide society.
  2. give teachers & school leaders the proper feedback for building an integrated school that boosts the teaching & learning process, the school curricula, transversal skills and will eventually support active participation of students.
  3. improve the school education systems’ management in order to become more efficient, effective, that will redefine collaboration between the school community and the Marketplace, Local and European Communities.
BUT WHAT ARE INNOVATION & CREATIVITY HUBS ANYWAY?

These Hubs are physical or virtual places, where people meet, exchange ideas, create networks and, among others, they wish to bring together communities with the entrepreneurial world. It is a collaboration space, based on digital technologies while exploiting scientific and experiential education.

AND WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR SCHOOL STARTERS’ HUB PROJECT?

That during this project’s lifetime, partners will work on transforming schools to Innovation Hubs, which will support students in developing their idea into a project, service/ product that will be visible to the labour market, other schools and stakeholders.

Partners will also detect any inconsistencies that come from the interrelation between school curricula and labour market needs. Meantime, teachers will have the opportunity of upskilling themselves in ICT and innovative interdisciplinary techniques like microlearning, design thinking, alternative teaching etc. As a result, they will be able to motivate students with collaborative and integrated approaches and in order for the latter to work on projects, manage them while following the sequence Know- Plan- Implement- Evaluate.
